GROWING PEOPLE CHANGE WITHIN
The Holy Spirit wants to work in every one of us to make us more and more like Jesus—knowing him better, loving God and our neighbors and making disciples. And this doesn’t happen in isolation. At Friends Church, we believe we grow best when we’re in community with one another.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

WHAT IF JESUS WAS SERIOUS ABOUT HEAVEN?
CONFERENCE ROOM // GINA GLAZER
Over the course of 12 weeks, we will re-examine Jesus' teachings on the Kingdom of Heaven, challenging ourselves to undo what we often misunderstand in light of what Jesus actually said about it. We will see that it's not just a celestial home but a way of life characterized by God's love, justice, and peace. We will explore how Jesus' parables reveal the nature of the Kingdom of Heaven and how we can participate in it, leading us to live in a way that reflects the values of God's Kingdom.
Based on the book by Skye Jethani.
Cost for book materials: $12

PRACTICING THE WAY: SABBATH
6:30 PM // ADULT CLASSROOM 1 // PASTOR RICH BENNETT
Sabbath is a twenty-four hour time period set aside to stop, rest, delight, and worship. It is the best day of the week. In our era of chronic exhaustion, emotional unhealth, and spiritual stagnation, few things are more necessary than the recovery of this ancient practice. Go deeper with spiritual practices that help us to be with Jesus, become like Him and do as He did.

Life Groups are the small/home group model we have developed at NOEFC. Following the example of the early Church as presented in Acts 2:42-47, these groups devote themselves to communally following the church's teaching, regular fellowship and meals together, prayer for one another, meeting the needs of others, accountability to one another, and fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Life Groups are not only a good thing but a crucial part of the life of the church, both in maintaining the Body within the church, and exercising the Body outside of its walls. Prioritizing authentic, intentional relationships with others who are seeking to grow in their relationship with the Lord is instrumental regarding life transformation, and the fulfillment of our church’s mission of “Loving people to LIFE in Jesus Christ”.
